A note from the corner table
Why we take the long way round a cup of coffee.
Most coffee writing is in a hurry. It wants to sell you a grinder before you have even sat down. Here we do the opposite. We let the kettle take its time, and we notice what happens in the ten quiet minutes it buys us.
I read a lot, I brew badly and then a little better, and I keep finding that the corner matters as much as the cup. Come sit with me a while.

From the reading room
"We make the time first, and let the cup follow. The quiet hour it buys is the part worth keeping."
